The fall of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago

The Tower of Babel itself collapsed - it was a great tragedy (the reason - could not find a common language).

COBE Wins Competition for the New Norreport Train Station in Copenhagen

Danish Architects COBE, in collaboration with Public Architects, Grontmij Carlbro and Bartenbach LichtLabor, have yesterday been awarded first place in the international competition to design the new Norreport Train Station in Copenhagen, Denmark.

(3D rendering by Luxigon.)
Norreport Train Station is the busiest train station in Denmark with around 250,000 persons passing daily. The new train station and surrounding urban space will be a new attraction for the area and a natural gathering place
The project is conceived as a series of rounded, almost floating roofs covering individual transparent glass pavilions. All station facilities will be visible and easily accessible and the station will appear like an open and welcoming public space.

Wood Patchwork House by Peter Kostelov

Architect Peter Kostelov has completed a riverside summer house in Tverskaya, Russia.

Called Wood Patchwork House, the building has a surface divided into rectangles and clad in an assortment of wooden slats painted in different colors.
The house overlooks the Volga river in the Tverskaya region of Russia.
The house was built as a second home – dacha in Russian – and has three storeys to allow guests the best view of the river from their window.
The clients asked for the building to comfortably house four adults, some of whom would work from home, and a few guests.
It contains a kitchen, dining room, guest rooms and bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, a studio, two wardrobe rooms and two verandas.
The interior carries on the theme of slatted wood, and the living spaces are arranged around a central wooden staircase.
