I have always loved this designer Starck I have a few of his less expensive pieces, a magazine holder and tape dispenser. I have a wonderful photo of him wearing a jacket by my other favorite designer Yohji Yamamoto in the early 80's. I enjoy this...

Augmented reality in advertising

Virtual fitting room in your room, race to the box from under the pizza, three-dimensional model of the car, which can be povertet in the hands and even make out - it's not a hallucination and not a fantasy, and existing technology supplemented by a reality in advertising.

Augmented reality can add to the objects from the real world images and objects from the virtual world. For the first time this technology has spread in the field of military aviation. Limited space of the… Continue

Awaiting a wave of North Shore foreclosures?

A recurring meme among some North Shore real estate agents of late has been concern about the impact of what they view as a pending wave of foreclosures in the area. When I sat down with Matt Garrison yesterday, I asked him to comment on that possibility.

Garrison’s blunt, direct answer goes a long way toward explaining why he’s become CNBC’s go-to guy for real estate market commentary: “There’s a massive amount of inventory on the market – not selling … Nothing appears to

Bond Bryan to Design New Landmark Building for Sheffield Hallam University

Sheffield Hallam University has announced plans to develop a new £25m building that will become a city center landmark thanks to its innovative design.

The new 9,500 sqm building on Charles Street in Sheffield, England will enable the University’s Faculty of Development and Society - currently split between the City and Collegiate campuses - to move to one campus.

Sheffield architects Bond Bryan have been appointed by the University to design the building, which will sit within the city’s Cultural Industries Quarter (CIQ).
The building’s semi-transparent walls and glass front will allow light to pass through and at night it will shine across the city’s skyline.

The iconic design fits in with Sheffield’s current campaign Re:Defining the City, which is seeing the city reinvent itself for success in the 21st Century.

Construction of MVRDV’s Market Hall started yesterday

Yesterday the mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb and city councilor Hamit Karakus officially started the construction of the new Rotterdam Market Hall . The arched building located in the centre of Rotterdam, developed by Provast and designed by MVRDV is a hybrid of public market and apartment building.

The project with a total of 100.000 m2 is set to be completed in 2014 and part of the current regeneration of Rotterdam’s post war centre. Project developer Provast realizes the building, Unibail Rodamco invested in the shops and restaurants whilst Housing Corporation Vesteda will manage the rental apartments, making the building a socially integrated part of the city.

AIA Housing Awards 2009

Outpost near Bellevue, Idaho, was one of two residences designed by Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen to receive 2009 AIA Housing Awards.

Toward the street, the concrete-block home near Bellevue, Idaho, presents abstract, minimally incised walls. On the other side of that boxy masonry, Outpost opens wide to sweeping views of the rural Idaho landscape.

While the house, designed by Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects, is built of simple, inexpensive, durable materials — which obviated the need for environmentally unfriendly coatings, paints, and sealants — its courtyard layout and multistory design make the building an elegant place for the artists who live and work there.

Outpost is one of 17 projects honored in the 2009 AIA Housing Awards. Through the awards program, now in its ninth year, the American Institute of Architects recognizes excellent residential design and seeks to promote the importance of good housing as a necessity of life, a sanctuary for the human spirit, and a valuable national resource.

Зеленая книга недели. Green Architecture Now!

Книга «Green Architecture Now!»
