Dutch practice XML has won the competition for Europan 10 in Tallinn and received honorable mentions for its proposals in Madrid and Munich. Europan is a biannual, pan-European competition that aims to bring to the fore Europe’s young architecture and urban design professionals by realizing the prize-winning proposals. Over the period of twenty years that the Europan competition has been held, XML is the first office to be successful in three respective Europan sites at the same time.

This rustic cabin design was built by Piet Hein Eek for friend, client and musician Hans Liberg who needed an inspiring and cultivating place to "play." There isn’t a whole lot to this simple, wood cabin design. Surrounded by forest, this timber house’s facade is characterized by cross-sections of stacked logs. A row of window clerestory windows features top-hinged, horizontally swinging shades that flood interiors with natural light. Inside, this compact cottage design contains the one thing this nature dweller needed for survival – a recording studio! And if ever Liberg needs some new inspiration for his melodious compositions, this modern mobile home goes where the music takes him thanks to integrated wheels on the bottom.

По мнению дизайнеров, рынок 21 века должен быть удобен как для розничной, так и для оптовой торговли, для которых выделены две разные зоны. Крыша рынка по замыслу будет преобразована в огромный парк. Внутри рынка будет организована система хранилищ, холодильников, оборудована система безопасности. А снаружи - удобная парковка и подъездные пути. Кроме того, тут планируется создать музей сельского хозяйства.

Строительный период, как намечают, продлится 11 лет - с 2009 до 2020. Торговля на рынке не будет прерываться во время его перестройки.
